One of our customers plans to design and produce a new type of foiling sailboat. We analysed the foil dynamics of this boat by simulating the concept in our Hydrofoil Optimization and Simulation Tool (HOST).

In this analysis, we did not only consider the sail, rudder and foil angles, but we also took into account the moving weight of the sailor. This is important to determine how to counteract the side forces generated by the foils and sails. With our recommendations, the foil design has been optimised.
